“Renewable Energy Resources, Energy Efficiency and Opportunities”

The forum which was hosted by Mr. Vedat Kirisçi, the President of Switzerland Chamber of Commerce in Turkey, took place at WOW Convention Center on November 5, 2009.

Mr. Moritz Leuenberger, Minister of Environment, Transportation, Energy and Communications of Switzerland and Taner Yildiz, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and HE Raimund Kunz ,Swiss Ambassador to Ankara have honoured the conference with their participation.

During the panels of the forum, representatives of the governments of companies shared their knowledge on renewable energy resources gained through experience, ‘Energy Politics, Incentives and Efficiency’ and ‘Private Sector Experiences and Finance’ topics were discussed by the distinguished Swiss and Turkish ministers and the experts on these subjects.

Forum was attended by 150 businessmen, government representatives and the members of parliament from Switzerland with great interest.

At Lunch

During the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Turkey and Switzerland regarding the gas transfer from Iran to Switzerland via Turkey . With this agreement Switzerland has acquired the right to carry over 5.5 billion cubic meters of Iran gas via Turkey to Switzerland.

The exhibition of envelopes of the Swiss-Turkish commercial letters dating back to 1900 has been one of the highlights of the event.
